Time for you...........

UKS weekly challenge - April week 3 - Sue gave us an almost impossible challenge this week and although I found it difficult to begin with - the LO just fell together and I am really pleased with it - thanks to my distress inks!

The challenge was to not have a square LO, no brads/buttons/blooms or patterned paper, 1 or 3 photos, and pink/purple or brown/orange colours. I have used the reverse of a piece of diecut paper and I have distressed it to an inch of its life - I started of with Old Paper, followed by Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, and Aged Mahogany. - the edge of the paper had just been brushed with Black soot. I then sprayed the page with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Black Magic.
The papers on the LO are embossed using the cogs and script Cuttlebug embossing folders - these were then distressed using Old Paper, followed by Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain. The Alphabet is Tim Holtz.
The pearly swirl is a section from a Prima Swirl, the Sentiment is printed on my PC and then cut out using one of the Nesabilities labels.
The Stamp set is 'A Sense of Time' from Stampin Up.
This photo of Sam and I was taken back in 2007 - he was only 6 years old. Soon he will be celebrating his 10th Birthday. Sam was diagnosed Autistic at two and a half. We have good days and bad days - but most of all he requires a bit of time and attention and I am often very guilty for not giving him this. I know today he wants to go to the Meadow - so today we will and I have also promised a trip to the book shop - I'm sure we will be in there for hours - but it will be Sam's time so he can take as long as he wants! He is the most funny, sensitive little character. he loves music, cards (especially Uno, Pokemon and Top Trumps) and collects lots of silly things - but along with his brother Jack they give me so much pleasure and I wouldn't change them for the world. Life certainly isn't dull in our house!
Thank you for looking

Hugs Sarah x x x x

Hi Scattychick - the sentiment was one I made myself - printed the sentiment on my PC and then cut it out using a Nestabilities tag die - the metal embellishment in the corner is a Tim Holtz Keyhole - if you would like a tag - email me your address and I'll post you one - sarah-e-wilkins@hotmail.co.uk

The distressing is totally fabulous!! Sam's story is also amazing. As the mother of an ADHD child I can empathise with the challenges you face but you must never beat yourself up for taking time for YOU!

Beautiful words and a great page. I did a similar page about my Autistic daughter's thing about time, stamping as well. I hope you don't mind if I used those words in sSarah's Book.
