CCW - Countdown to Christmas - Day 23
Good morning and welcome to my post for the CCW countdown to Christmas.
I have made some Tim Holtz style tags
For the tags I have made, you will need the following. Tags, a selection of distress inks, stamps, inks like Versamark and Archival ink. Heat gun and embossing powders, collection of dies and embossing folders, a selection of metal embellishments, and ribbon.
Distressing is a messy and fun thing to do and for advice where to start go to Tim's blog and look at his Youtube vids - they are fab. This tag below before I started playing with any ink I used a embossing folder to obtain the musical notes, cut out a tag (this one is a Magnolia doohickey tag). I have then used a selections of pink inks such as Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick to blend the colours. I added a little bit of bling, flowers and a sentiment.
The tag has been finished off with ribbon, and a crochet tree decoration with a bell - that can be removed and put on the Xmas tree! The decorations and the bells came from Paperchase!
This tag I stamped the sentiment first using Versamark and clear embossing powder, then added my trees with Archival ink before starting with my distress inks - I have used a combination of Crushed Olive, Pine Needles and Forest Moss. The deer has been cut using a Tim Holtz die, and Grungeboard, and stained using distress stain.
Again finished off with some Tim Holtz metal work and a tree decoration.
Again this one was embossed before I started distressing. I have used Barn Door, and Festive Berries ink and the edges have a little Black Soot.
The '25' has been cut out using a die and embossed with black embossing powder.
I have stamped the Deer (from one of Tim's stampsets), with Versamark and then embossed using black embossing powder before I distressed using Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Vintage photo. I then added the Christmas Blessing sentiment.
I have clear embossed the swirl, so it resists the ink as I distress the tag. Used Archival ink for the snowflakes and trees. I have used Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.
All these tags were finished off with a selection of Christmas metal - and you can see how I have changed what I clear embossed and what I've inked - the varieties are endless!
Here are my presents all ready wrapped to go - by adding a ornate decorative tag I have used plain brown wrapping paper (I got mine from Ikea) and a little bit of twine and a beautiful tag!
Happy Inky Fingers!! and thanks for looking.
